Here are 8 New Features That Will Come to the iPhone 15 in 2023
3. Dynamic Island for All Models
All Models Apple introduces Dynamic Island for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, while the cheaper iPhone 14 models continue to sport the notch.
In the iPhone 15 line, all model ranges are expected to get Dynamic Island, maybe a good option for those of you who want Dynamic Island but on the basic model, in order to cut costs to a minimum.
It looks like the sizes of the iPhone 15 are all the same, starting from iPhone 15 and 15 Pro will be 6.1 inches, and iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be 6.7 inches.
4. Periscope Lens Technology
According to Juli Clover from Macrumors, Apple will use a periscope lens because a number of Android manufacturers have used this lens.
"We have been hearing about Apple's work on periscope lens technology for years now, and this feature is likely to be introduced in 2023," quoted from Macrumors
With a periscope lens, Apple could offer 5x or even 10x optical zoom, certainly a significant improvement from the 3x on the current iPhone 14 Pro models.
5. Name Change on iPhone Model 15
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg says that Apple may replace the Pro Max version of the iPhone 15 with a new high-end Ultra model.
That would line up with the Apple Watch Ultra, and it could give Apple an excuse to limit certain features to the higher-end iPhones, such as periscope lens technology. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has said that the periscope lens could be limited to iPhones in most flagship versions.
6. A17 chip with 3Nm technology
The iPhone 15 Pro model is likely to use a 3-nanometer chip from Apple supplier TSMC. This technology is expected to increase processing performance by 10 to 15 percent, while reducing power consumption by up to 30 percent.
It seems that, judging from the previous year, Apple will only use the A17 in the Pro series models, and the basic model series, namely the iPhone 15, uses the A16 chipset used by the current iPhone 14 Pro.
7. Bigger RAM
iPhone 15 Pro models can get 8GB of RAM, up from 6GB. This RAM increase may be to support new capabilities such as periscope lens technology which requires fast performance in image processing.
8. Chip Model Qualcomm
Apple will use Qualcomm's 5G modem chip for its 2023 iPhone 15 lineup, as it has done since the iPhone 5G was introduced.
There are rumors that Apple could use its own in-house modem chip as soon as 2023, but the technology isn't ready yet.
